My Favorite - Banana curry (Kele ki sabji)

Oh Yes, I am an epicure !!  Though I am not a very good Cook , but I manage to prepare dishes I like.
Banana curry (kele ki sabji) is one of the dishes that I like. Fortunately It is very easy to prepare  :)
This is a delicious sweet and sour dish, and only takes few minutes to prepare. [Fast to cook , Good to Eat :p ]

To prepare this delicious dish you will need:

  • 3 ripe bananas peeled and sliced 1/2 inch thick.
  • 3 tablespoon oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeere)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dhana jeera powder
  • Pinch of turmeric (haldi)
  • 1 teaspoon Suger
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt adjust to taste
  • Approx. 2 tablespoons chopped cilantro (hara dhania)
  • 1/2 Glass water

Easy steps to prepare this dish :
  1. Heat the oil in a sauce pan on medium high. Test the heat by adding one cumin seed to the oil; if seed cracks right away oil is ready.
  2. Add bananas , add water  now stir gently and cook only for a minute, don’t overcook otherwise banana will become mushy and watery.
    set Heat to low
  3. Quickly add Add pinch of turmeric, 1/2 t-spoon red chilly powder (actually this depends on test, I like a bit spicy dish),  1/4 teaspoon Dhana jeera powder,1 teaspoon sugar, salt (adjust to test).
  4. stir gently again, add chopped cilantro.

Done... !! you can searve this dish with Roti, paratha or Naan.

I will add photo of dish prepared by me soon

Camping - River Rafting - Paintball at Rishikesh

Here I am going to talk about my adventurous, wonderful, heavenly experience at Rishikesh. Rishikesh is also known as "The Gateway to the Himalayas" !!, is indeed a spectacular place.

Famous river rafting spot at Rishikesh are Brahmpuri, Shivpuri, Marine Drive and Kaudiyala. Those destinations offer various hilarious rapids to feel the amazing river rafting experience at Ganga. White Water Rafting covering the decisive rapids like initiation (Grade-1), Sweet Sixteen (Grade-1), Cross Fire (Grade-3), Three Blind Mice (Grade-3), Roller Coaster (Grade-4) and Golf Course (Grade-4).

I along with my 11 friends, planned to go for camping ,River rafting at Rishikesh for 2 days.

(My 11 friends...  Rushabh, Utsav, Shreyash, Milind, Siddharth, Nishant, Kushal, Chirag, Roank, Tej and  Nitin  ☺ )

Date :13th April, 2013

We hired 2 Innova for travelling. So we left from Noida around 5:10 am. Distance between Noida and Rishikesh is around 230 km , but due to traffic, single lane it took around 6 and half hour to reach Rishikesh. The hilly route of Rishikesh is  very beautiful. Holy river Ganga passing through lush green mountains. The view is really  fascinating for urbanite  like me. All of us had feeling like "ohh.. this is Heaven !! "

Our campsite was near Crossfire rapid, all covered with silver-white smooth sand at the bank of Ganga.
We went for River Rafting around 3:00 pm. 8 people and a guide, all with life jacket, helmet. First of all guide gave us general instructions then he taught us way of paddling etc. After that we experienced thrilling ride in  flow of Ganga...  experience in rapids was really heart throbbing... [Rapids: When a river meets a steep gradient the water velocity increases resulting in the formation of turbulent water zones called rapids. Rapids are classified in levels from I-VI depending on the turbulence and maneuvering required.]. Crossfire, Mickey mouse, Golf course, Roller coaster are name of some of the rapids that we enjoyed. It took around 3 hours for 15-16 km of River Rafting. Then we returned to our camp.

On the next day, i.e.14th April 2013, we enjoyed volley ball, plunging in River etc. After lunch it was time to experience real Counters-stike !! PAINTBALL. :) :)

Girirajji Parikrama

I perfomed "prikrama" of  "Shree Girirajji (Govardhan)" on 6th April,2013.  It was really a divine experience for me.

ભોમિયા વિના મારે ભમવા’તા ડુંગરા,
જંગલની કુંજકુંજ જોવી હતી

Govardhana Hill has a Parikrama of about fourteen miles (23 km.) and can take five to six hours to complete if one walks at a brisk pace. People from all over India visit Vraja in order to perform Govardhana Parikrama. On auspicious occasions like Guru Purnima, Purusottamamasa or Govardhana-puja, over half a million people go around the sacred hill.

Here are pic of my Parikrama..... :)
